Agreement reached with China on troop shift from LAC, indicates success of corps commander level talks

It was formally announced that an agreement had been reached with China on the issue of withdrawing troops from the Line of Control (LAC).

The meeting also agreed to move tanks and armored vehicles. The two sides also agreed to remove the stalemate from some places.

An Indian military spokesman said on Sunday that the eighth round of talks between military officials of both the parties on the issue of tension in Ladakh was held in Chushul. The discussion was constructive. Both sides discussed intensive issues. In a joint statement, India and China acknowledged in a joint statement that the two sides had agreed to withdraw their respective armies and decided to avoid any misunderstandings.

The two sides agreed to move forward through dialogue and exchange of views between diplomatic leaders and military officials, according to a statement released in Beijing and New Delhi. The agreement was reached after a ten-and-a-half-hour meeting in Chushul on Friday, November 6.
