- If you want to do that, teach the Bible and the Gita

Assam Education Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma said that you cannot teach Quran-e-Sharif in madrassas with government money. If the Quran is to be taught, the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita must be taught by the government with money.

"We want to bring uniformity in education," he said. We will convert all the madrassas run by the state government into regular schools. In some cases, teachers teaching the Quran will be made teachers in government schools and some madrassas will be closed. An official announcement will be made on November 1.

Hemant further said that some Muslim youths open fake accounts on Facebook under bogus Hindu names and then trap Hindu girls. Such marriages are not marriages, they are mere deceptions. The state government was preparing to take strict action against such scams. We will see that all marriages are voluntary on both sides. Strict action will be taken in case of fraud.
