Fifteen people were killed when two air force helicopters collided in Afghanistan, a preliminary report said.

According to Afghan media reports, one helicopter was bringing back the commandos and the other was taking the injured to the hospital. However, the Afghan Defense Ministry has not yet commented. The accident happened in the new district of South Helmand. Details of how the accident happened are not yet known.

According to another source, not fifteen but eight people were killed. Omar Zwak, a spokesman for the provincial governor, confirmed the news of the accident. Zwak refused to say anything more.
