The four suspects in the Hathras scandal wrote a letter to the police chief claiming that they were innocent. This is the case of Honor Killing. We have been misled.

The main suspect Sandeep wrote that he had befriended the dying girl. Sometimes we would talk to each other on mobile phones. The family was devastated. This whole case is of Honor Killing. On the day of the incident the victim called me to the farm. The victim's mother and brother were present when I left. So the victim told me to go back home now. I went to the house where my father was watering the cattle and got the news that the victim had been beaten by his brother and mother. The victim was seriously injured. He later died. We have neither tortured nor killed the victim. We were trapped.

The head of Hathras Jail confirmed that such a letter had been written. However, no response was received from the police chief. Earlier, the police chief had stated that the victim's tongue had not been cut or raped, according to a post-mortem report.

In this case the whole village was in favor of the so-called accused. The people also demanded an impartial inquiry into the case.
