Tharoor made anti-India statement on Pakistan's platform, BJP asked Congress will contest elections in Pak?

New Delhi, 18 October 2020, Sunday

Congress leader and former UPA minister Shashi Tharoor has sparked an anti-India political controversy on the Pakistani stage.

"Muslims and people from the Northeast are discriminated against in India. People in India are afraid of each other. People who look like the Chinese are discriminated against," Tharoor said at the Lahore Think Fest.

Tharoor, speaking on behalf of the Tablighi Jamaat, said that Muslims were harassed during the transition to Corona.

However, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra has now responded. He said, "There is no other country with a democratic tradition like India. Everyone here is worried. Tharoor has defamed India before the Pakistani media. That's a surprise, too.

Patra said that he has never dared to ask Pakistan how Pakistan oppresses minorities. Every day new cases of atrocities against Hindus and Christians as well as Sikhs come out in Pakistan. After all, what do the people of the Congress want, does the Congress want to go to Pakistan and fight the elections

"Rahul Gandhi is already a hero in China and Pakistan," he said. "After Article 370 was removed from Kashmir, he said that hundreds of people have died in Kashmir and Imrakhan would have mentioned it." The media there was also surprised to hear this.
