Bhopal, dated 20 October 2020, Tuesday

The BJP has also started issuing Hindu cards in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly by-election campaign. A controversial statement was made by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Minister Usha Thakur.

He said that fundamentalists are coming out of madrassas. All the terrorists have come out of the madrassas. At one time, Jammu and Kashmir also became known as a factory of terrorists.

Usha Thakur said that Assam has shown that madrassas have been closed down. Madrassas should not get any government assistance. The Wakf Board itself is an economically viable institution and can run those madrassas. The constitution allows but the constitution should not be misinterpreted. Religious education is more divisive among the people. For this, all children need to be given the same education. Depriving them of their wages.

Usha Thakur said that tribals are being converted. All these elements have to be mirrored by the voters.
