The winter season has begun with the formal farewell of the monsoon in the hilly and plain areas of the northern part of the country. The coming winter season will be bitterly cold. The winter is estimated to be long. Decreased humidity in the air, dry air and clear weather start a clear cold wave which has already happened.

The country will experience severe cold this year. The winter season will be longer this year. Temperatures are expected to drop from October 15. The wind speed has increased due to heavy pressure in the northern regions.

The coming winter will be important for farming. Meanwhile, JP Singh, director of research at the Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley, said, "Winter will start soon and this will be good for the long winter sun crop." Due to good monsoon rains, the soil in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan has moisture which can lead to better wheat crop.

In contrast, the northern states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh received less rainfall in September. Due to which the water level is low. Agriculture in these states is 100 per cent irrigated for wheat production. But as the cold season is long, wheat production may increase.
