At a time when parents are hoping to find a well-educated, well-employed sculptor for their daughter, a 40-year-old farmer in Karimnagar district has taken the initiative to find a bride for a young man who is a farmer by profession. This farmer finds brides for the young men involved.

A farmer from Timmapur village in Karimnagar town area of Telangana. Anji Reddy launched the Exclusive Marriage Bureau last week to find brides for farmers. This marriage bureau is named 'Rayathu Marriage Bureau'. Which is only for farmers other than caste, religion.

"There are marriage bureaus for every caste, religion and community in every part of the country," Reddy said. But I have noticed that most of the people who have registered with the Marriage Bureau are engaged in employees, tradesmen, engineers, doctors and other occupations but not farmers.

Even if a farmer registers with the Marriage Bureau, he is a big landowner who has some other business. A person whose livelihood is entirely dependent on farming can hardly find a bride. If an educated farmer registers his name in the marriage bureau, he does not get a good response. This is why I have started an exclusive marriage bureau for farmers.

According to Reddy, till now agriculture was a respectable occupation and it was easy to find brides in villages. But the girls of the present generation of farming families have also become much more educated and ambitious. They find educated and employed youth. As a result, young people who have taken up agriculture as their business are finding it difficult to find brides for their marriages.
