Russia tests world's deadliest cruise missile, eight times faster than sound

Moscow, October 7, 2020, Wednesday

India has the BrahMos cruise missile, one of the most dangerous cruise missiles in the world. However, Russia has now successfully tested the world's deadliest cruise missile, the Zircon, amid ongoing tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Central Asia.

The cruise missile can reach up to eight times the speed of sound. The missile hit a target at a distance of 450 km in just 4.5 minutes during the test. No other cruise missile with such speed has been built in the world. Russia has now taken action to include this missile in the army. India's BrahMos missile is also based on Zircon.

Zircon's speed is such that no radar system in the world can track and target it. Only Russia's own S-500 air defense system is capable of this.
