Rohtang: Potato-laden truck overturns near Atal tunnel, 4 tourists rescued

A road accident has started happening near the world famous Atal Tunnel Rohtang in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Accidents have started happening here four days after the inauguration. In a recent incident, a truck laden with potatoes overturned near the main entrance of the tunnel, causing severe damage to a vehicle parked on the side of the road. Four youths have barely survived.

The Kullu SP said a truck loaded with potatoes from Lahore Spiti suddenly overturned and overturned on a car, which also hit a car parked on the side of the road. Four people narrowly escaped being hit by an overturned truck near Dhundhi Bridge. The police have registered a case and started investigation.

Incident also inside the tunnel

It is to be mentioned that the incident inside the tunnel has happened earlier. Vehicles collided inside the Atal Tunnel on the second day of the tunnel inauguration, while two vehicles collided on the third day of the inauguration. Now a truck full of potatoes has overturned near Dhundi after exiting the tunnel. Incidents on the way to Lihaza Tunnel are on the rise. The reason is considered to be over speed.

Police issued advisory

Kullu police have now also issued an advisory on the Atal tunnel. Under which strict action will be taken against stopping, over speeding, overtaking inside the tunnel without any reason. Police will take legal action against the occupant inside the tunnel by issuing currency under the HP Traffic Control Act.

Kullu SP said that after the inauguration of Atal Tunnel, Kullu police has deployed 35 personnel for its security and traffic control. It would be an offense to stop a vehicle inside the tunnel for no reason and to over speed or overtake. Police are monitoring with speed Doppler radar to detect over speed.
