Patna 23rd October 2020 Friday

As preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections are in full swing, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's helicopter was not allowed to land in Bihar's Purnia area on Thursday. Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address rallies on Friday from the grand alliance and Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the NDA.

Regarding the Purnia incident, the district magistrate had disclosed that no information had been given to the district administrator in advance that Rahul Gandhi would be coming to Purnia on October 22. The meeting was reported to be on Friday at Purnia Air Force Station. There was no word on Thursday's program. We also have to look at security protocols in the Air Force area. Programs are decided accordingly. Purnia was not included for transit on Thursday.

He further said that Purnia Air Force Station does not fall under the purview of the district administration. It is a military area so there is no question of allowing us. Earlier it was reported to the media that Rahul Gandhi was not going to address any meeting in Purnia, only to come here by plane and then to another place by helicopter. Now the Congress says Rahul Gandhi had a meeting in Purnia on Thursday. Thus the situation was like a mess.
