Washington, Oct. 2, 2020, Friday

For millions of people in the world, America is a dream country. There are many Indians who have such expectations. People are eager to live in America.

However, not all yellow is gold, which is a shocking revelation for the United States. Of the 4.2 million Indian-Americans living in the United States, 6.5 million live below the poverty line, and the Corona epidemic is likely to increase that figure.

This was revealed in a recent study by the Paul Nitz School of Advanced International Studies of the prestigious American educational institution John Hopkins, the results of which were released on Thursday. One-third of them are not part of the labor force, while 20 percent do not even have American citizenship.

MR Rangaswamy, founder of Indiaspora, says it is important to pay attention to the plight of American Indians living in poverty. This is the right time. There is a need to raise awareness about poverty.
