New delhi date. 16 October 2020, Friday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a Rs 75 commemorative coin on the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization. At the same time, 17 bio-cultured varieties of 8 crops have been developed. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi said, "I congratulate those around the world who are making continuous efforts to eradicate malnutrition."

Narendra Modi said that Indian farmers, our agricultural scientists, Anganwadi and Asha workers have strengthened the campaign against malnutrition. He has diligently replenished the grain reserves of Dash, on the other hand, helping the government to reach the people of Chhewada and the poor. Narendra Modi said the Food and Agriculture Organization has closely watched India's fight against malnutrition over the past decades. Attempts were made by some departments at different levels in the country, but their reach was limited or such efforts were fragmented. When I got the opportunity to serve the country in 2014, I started anew.

Modi further said that farmers are getting one and a half times the cost in the form of support price. Support prices and government procurement are important components of food security. So it is natural to start them. Earlier, on the occasion of Scindia's birth centenary, Princess Vijayaraja unveiled a Rs 100 commemorative coin to the Prime Minister.
