Income tax raids on BSP's richest leader Maluk Nagar


- The team struck in six or seven places, including his father-in-law

Half a dozen places in Maluk Nagar, the richest leader of Mayawati's BSP party, have been raided by the Income Tax department since this morning. Such places included the home and office of Maluk's father-in-law.

It was alleged that Maluk had given less details in his income tax return for the last six years. His business was much more than the documents he submitted. Income tax officials were also questioning Maluk's chartered accountant.

Maluk Nagar is in the dairy business which has been selling its products to Mother Dairy for a long time. The raids were carried out by the Lucknow-based Income Tax department. Maluk's residence and office in Delhi were also raided. In addition to Delhi and NCR, teams of Income Tax officers raided Ghaziabad, Hapud, Garh, Pari Chowk in Greater Noida and Maluk in Delhi.
