Gangrape victim trapped in Chitrakoot, family alleges police did not register complaint

After Hathras, now Sagira of Chitrakoot was short-lived after being gangraped. He ate the traps in his own house. Her family members alleged that the police did not take up the complaint of the Dalit girl.

Today is the funeral of the victim so the whole area was turned into a police camp. Politicians claiming to be the savior of the Dalits were rushing towards Chitrakoot.

The gangrape victim on Tuesday succumbed to her injuries at her home in Manikpur area. Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal said the teenager was allegedly gangraped in a forest area on October 8 by the family of the deceased.

Mittal told the media that the police had registered a complaint from the family concerned and three suspects had also been arrested. The accused were identified as Kishan Upadhyay, Ashish and Satish. Kishan Upadhyay is the son of a village minister. The three were arrested under the Poxo and SC-ST Act.

However, the family of the deceased teenager maintained their allegation that the police did not take up the complaint in time and therefore the teenager was killed. Returning police claimed that the allegation of rape at the postmortem was not corroborated. The family concerned did not even lodge a complaint with the police. As soon as the funeral of the girl was announced today, a large number of people were flocking to the village.
