According to the information received, the animals gangraped the girl by feeding her drugs. The case is within the purview of Gasdi police station in Balrampur.

Relatives of the girl say that the 22-year-old girl left home on September 29 at around 10 am to seek admission in BCom. But when he did not return home at around 5 pm, a search was launched.

At around 7 pm, the girl reached home in a rickshaw in bad condition. Seeing her condition, the family members interrogated her and she started to ache. After showing the two doctors of the village, the girl went out of the village to get treatment at the district headquarters and the girl died as soon as she reached a little further.

Meghavi, a victim of a heinous gangrape, had been working as a community resource person in an organization for almost two years to spread awareness among the farmers of the area about modern farming. Upon receiving notice of the incident on September 30, the police sent the girl's body for postmortem.
