Delhi's Akshardham temple to open from October 13

The Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in Delhi is set to open on October 13 amid the Koro epidemic. According to the government order, only a limited number of people will be allowed to enter the temple from 5 to 7 pm along with the guideline of Corona.

The music fountain at the temple will be open, while the exhibition hall will be closed. In closed places with a capacity of 200 persons, maximum 50 per cent will get permission.

People entering the temple must wear a mandatory mask and observe social distance. At the same time the use of hand sanitizer will also be mandatory.

People will be thermally screened before entering the temple. Before the Koro crisis, thousands of people from Swaminarayan Akshardham temple used to come daily to other states of the country including Delhi-NCR, Gujarat.

The Akshardham temple is made of pink, white marble and sandstone. Steel and iron were not used in the construction of this temple.

The temple took about 5 years to build. This temple was built under the leadership of Swami Maharaj, the head president of Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha. 11,000 artisans contributed to the construction of the temple, which is spread over 100 acres of land.
