Corona virus will remain for the next 20 years: Serum Institute claims

New delhi date. 23 October 2020, Friday

The spread of Corona virus in the country and the world is constantly increasing. People around the world are waiting to see when the corona vaccine will arrive and get rid of this epidemic. Many of the world's largest companies and organizations are researching the corona vaccine. In the midst of all this, the world's leading vaccine maker, the Indian company Serum Institute, has claimed that the coronavirus epidemic is not going to go away anytime soon, but will remain so for the next two decades.

Adar Poonawala, CEO of the Serum Institute, told a website that the corona virus would continue to spread for the next 20 years and people would be infected. And until then the vaccine will also be needed. Poonawala further said that it has never happened in history that the need for any vaccine has been met at once. Giving examples of diseases like pneumonia, flu etc., he said that vaccines for all these diseases have been used for years and are still being used. The same can happen with the corona vaccine.

Poonawala said that if all the people of the world would be vaccinated, they would still need it. Vaccines are not a solid remedy, they only increase immunity. Vaccines cause the body to produce antibodies. Which saves you from illness, but not 100 percent.

The Serum Institute is developing a vaccine called Covishield in collaboration with Oxford University. The vaccine is currently in the third phase of trials.
