India on Sunday tested a naval version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. Brahmos was rescued from the Indian Navy's indigenously-made destroyers in the Arabian Sea and he aimed precisely. With the successful test of BrahMos, India has tested 11 missiles in just two months.
The missile test is being carried out at a time when India's tensions with China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh are at an all-time high. The tensions led to a violent clash between the two countries' troops in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh in June, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed, although China also suffered heavy losses. Also, he has not yet said how many of his soldiers were killed.
In the past few weeks, India has tested a number of surface-to-surface missiles, including the supersonic cruise missile BrahMos and the anti-radiation missile Rudram-1. India has also tested the prowess of a hypersonic missile capable of carrying nuclear weapons. The successful testing of Rudram-1 is being hailed as a major achievement as it is India's first indigenously developed anti-radiation weapon. India has deployed a large number of BrahMos supersonic missiles on the LAC.
