Arms summons sent to arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari, court orders to expedite extradition process

Arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari, who is considered a friend of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's husband Robert Vadra, was expected to face more difficulties. The Special Court of Rouge Avenue Court directed the Enforcement Directorate to expedite the extradition process of Sanjay Bhandari.

Sanjay Bhandari is currently hiding in London. There is a case of money laundering against him. The special court had issued summons against Bhandari and others and allowed the ED to bring them back to India.

The ED had received information from the Income-tax department that Sanjay Bhandari and his friends had transferred crores of rupees abroad with the help of some companies. The Enforcement Directorate was doing so as the Black Money Act and money laundering. The ED told the special court that Bhandari along with his friends had sent crores of rupees abroad and evaded taxes here. This caused huge losses to the exchequer. Bhandari has assets in various countries and his black money was hidden especially in tax free countries. Such countries include countries like Panama.

The special court directed the ED to summon the accused and expedite the extradition process. Bring him back to India from London and work against him.
