The Hathras incident was described by the Supreme Court as shocking as well as extremely frightening. He also said that the investigation into the whole matter would be transparent. The apex court has sought a reply from the Uttar Pradesh government on the entire matter by October 8, asking it to provide information on what it has done to provide security to the victim's family and witnesses.

When the government responded for the first time as to why the victim was buried on the night, it said in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court that sexual violence would have erupted in Hathras if the funeral had not been held at night.

The Uttar Pradesh government, on the other hand, presented its arguments in an affidavit and said that the whole matter should be handed over to the CBI under the supervision of the Supreme Court, as an innocent girl has died.

The state government has also demanded a judicial inquiry into the whole matter, claiming that if a judicial inquiry is held, the misconceptions being spread against the government can be stopped. A bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde later said, "We will ensure that the whole matter is investigated in a transparent manner."

We want the affidavit to clarify the picture of what has been done for the protection of witnesses in this entire case as well as what has happened in the Allahabad High Court so that the Supreme Court can take action in this regard. The incident is horrific and frightening.

The entire case has been filed in a PIL Supreme Court seeking an inquiry under the supervision of the CBI as well as the Supreme Court. "We are not opposing this PIL, we just want the CBI to investigate and the Supreme Court to oversee the investigation," said Tushar Mehta, arguing on behalf of the government.

Police, on the other hand, claimed that a journalist and three others were arrested in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly sexually assaulting some people in Uttar Pradesh under the pretext of Hathrasakand. Were involved, with the PFI claiming to have funded the CAI protest.

He was also accused of trying to incite sexual violence in the wake of the massacre. However, a Kerala-based media organization has claimed that the journalist arrested was innocent. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against 100 persons, including a former BJP MP Rajveer Singh Pehlwan, for holding a meeting in Hathras in support of the accused in the Hathraskand.
