30 lakh employees of the center will get Diwali bonus, the total cost will be 3737 crore

A major decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister. The cabinet has announced Diwali bonuses for 30 lakh government employees. With this announcement of the government, 30 lakh employees of the Center will get Diwali bonus.

Informing about the decision of the Cabinet, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the money would be transferred directly to the employees' accounts through DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer. The money has been ordered to be transferred immediately, he said.

The Union Cabinet has approved productivity-linked bonuses and non-productivity-linked bonuses for 2019-2020. The announcement will benefit more than 30 lakh central employees and cost a total of Rs 3,737 crore.

The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its nod to pay bonuses to non-gazetted employees of departments like Railways, Post, Defense, EPFO, ESIC for the year 2019-2020.

Notably, non-PLB or ad hoc bonuses are given to non-gazetted central employees. The government's announcement will benefit 13.70 lakh central employees and impose an economic burden of Rs 946 crore on the government. The bonus will benefit a total of 30.67 lakh employees and the total financial expenditure will be Rs 3737 crore.

Earlier last week, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the launch of a special festival advance scheme for government employees. Through which the employee will be able to take 10 thousand rupees in advance.


Center employees will be able to take advantage of the LTC scheme

Let me tell you that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also announced a special LTC scheme in view of the impact of Covid 19 on the economy. It will benefit central government employees. In this scheme, employees will get cash vouchers instead of LTAs. However, it must be used before March 31, 2021. However, to avail this facility, the government has given some guidelines which have to be followed.
