UGC releases new academic calendar, cuts to vacation holidays

The 2020-21 academic session is set to begin on November 1 at universities and colleges that were closed during the Corona era. Admission will be till 31st October in the first year of graduation and post graduate. During the study, cuts will be made this year for winter and next year for summer holidays and other holidays.

The UGC said in its guidelines that the leave has been cut to complete the ongoing courses due to the delay in the session. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted that classes for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the first year would start from November 1 as per the revised academic calendar issued by UGC.

The commission has directed the universities that the admission process for these courses will be completed by October 31. Classes will run 6 days a week to complete the study.

The new session will be run online, face to face in the classroom and in mixed mode. This academic calendar will be applicable to the technical colleges of AICTE.
