Two Babbar Khalsa militants were nabbed in Delhi, a special police team said

Two Babbar Khalsa militants were arrested in the country's capital New Delhi. The two were picked up by a special team of Delhi Police after a shootout.

The militants had earlier opened fire on police. Police returned fire. He was arrested near Nirankari Colony in North Delhi. The two, identified as Bhupinder Singh alias Dilawar Singh and Kulwant Singh, were identified by the police as members of Babbar Khalsa International.

The duo started firing when they saw the police when they reached Nirankari Colony on the basis of earlier information. Both are residents of Ludhiana. Police seized a large quantity of ammunition and explosives from them. Both were also on the wanted list of the Punjab Police. The list of the two included some leaders from Delhi and Punjab. Apart from India, Babbar Khalsa is a banned terrorist organization in Canada, England and Germany.

In 1978, Babbar Khalsa killed some Sikhs in a conflict with the Niharkar sect. Babbar Khalsa was active in the post-1980 uprising in Punjab. The Babbar Khalsa lost its grip after the police shot dead some of the organisation's top leaders in an encounter in the 1990s.
