The new rules will come into effect from October 1, with the Center changing the rules regarding E-Challan

The Union Ministry of Roads and Highways has recently made changes in the Central Motor Vehicle Rules. The new rules announced by the Center will come into effect from October 1. Traffic rules will be implemented in the country with the help of IT services and electronic monitoring based on the ministry.

Under the new rules, vehicles can no longer be stopped just for document checking.

Under the new rules, if a vehicle or a document is deficient or incomplete, e-verification of documents will be done with the help of its registration number and e-currency will be sent. Documents will no longer be required for vehicle inspection. So how do you know if a document of a vehicle has expired or not.

Vehicle owners will maintain their documents in electronic form as per the rules announced by the Central Government. So as to get relief from stopping on the road and checking.

Documents attached to the vehicle such as licenses, registration documents, fitness certificates, permits etc. will be managed on a portal run by the government. It will also be used for compounding, impounding, endorsement, suspension of license, registration and e-challan.
