The corona vaccine will not be available until 2022, said a senior WHO scientist

Geneva, Ta. 16 September 2020, Wednesday

The world has been suffering from the corona virus for more than seven months. It is not yet known when the world will get rid of this deadly disease.

Effective vaccination of corona virus is being carried out in a fair manner in different countries. This will require the preparation of millions of doses by the middle of next year. This means that all 170 countries or economies affiliated to the WHO will get anything or anything.

Meanwhile, a statement by WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan has turned people's hopes upside down. On Tuesday, he said it would be difficult to get the amount of vaccine needed by 2022 to return to normal life. Adequate doses are currently available. The vaccine is targeted to reach two billion doses by the end of 2021.

It looks like the whole world will get vaccinated in January and life will get back on track. It doesn't really happen. We will evaluate the vaccine rollout in mid-2021, as the results of this vaccine will be seen in early 2021.

However, China is moving aggressively on the vaccine issue. Wu Gijen of the Chinese Center for Disease and Prevention said on Tuesday that China would have the right to develop the vaccine locally by November-December. There, US President Donald Trump has also claimed that the vaccine will be given within four weeks. Under political pressure, drug companies may also issue licenses to use the vaccine in emergencies.

Swaminathan said the trials that are currently underway will take at least 12 months, if not more. This is the time where you can see if there are any side effects of the vaccine in the early weeks. However, this is an epidemic so many regulators will want to make a list of emergency uses. The US FDA may soon issue guidelines for emergency use of the vaccine.
