- Bhushan's troubles are increasing day by day

New Delhi Dated 5th September 2020 Saturday

Senior legislator Prashant Bhushan was acquitted by the Supreme Court for a so-called contempt of court, but that did not alleviate Bhushan's woes.

According to the latest news in this direction, the Bar Council of India may punish Bhushan. The Bar Council ordered an inquiry into Bhushan's tweets. The Bar Council announced that Bhushan's tweets about the judiciary would be thoroughly investigated.

"We have instructed the Delhi branch to investigate these tweets and submit a report to us," the Bar Council said on Friday. In addition to drafting a code of conduct for lawyers, the Bar Council of India is an organization that provides legal education across the country.

Prashant Bhushan is an active member of the Delhi Bar Council. The Bar Council of India had directed an inquiry against him under Section 24A of the Advocates Act. Interestingly, when the Supreme Court held Bhushan responsible for the contempt of court, 1500 lawyers of the country supported Bhushan. At the same time, the country's top politicians also backed Bhushan.

Now when the Supreme Court dismissed Bhushan with a symbolic fine of just one rupee, the Bar Council was taking action against him. The Bar Council also had the right to do so. On one point, however, most lawyers agreed that the court's contempt provision was sometimes abused.
