New delhi date. 19. Saturday 2020 September

The long-serving warship INS Virat has embarked on its final voyage on Friday.

The ship, which served in the Navy for 30 years, was retired in 2017. It then left Mumbai for Bhavnagar on Friday. The aircraft carrier will arrive at Bhavnagar on Sunday night.

The INS Virat is the only warship to have been part of the British Navy and then the Indian Navy. The Virat was bought at an auction in 2017 for Rs 38 crore. Has been dispatched.

The companies that took the ship to auction say that many motorcycle makers are in touch. They want to buy the steel of this ship. The motorcycle was also made from the steel of the previously retired INS Vikrant ship.

Virat joined the British Navy in 1959. India bought him in 1986.
