In the Corona era, the livelihood of shopkeepers who make a living by selling goods on the street-side street has been greatly affected. This is the reason why the government started the scheme from June 1 to help street vendors facing economic crisis.

Under this scheme, the government gives loans of Rs 10,000 to hawkers without any guarantee for resumption of their business. These loans are available at affordable rates. The government's loan scheme has been named PM Street Vendors Self Reliant Fund (PM Swanidhi).

They can get their livelihood back on track. The government loan scheme, available at affordable rates, was launched in June 2020. Its specialty is that no guarantee is taken for the loan distributed under it.
