Food donors strike in Haryana in protest of agriculture bill, farmers' organizations take to the streets

Farmers in Haryana have intensified their opposition to the agriculture bill. Farmers' organizations gathered for a demonstration today. Hundreds of farmers took to the streets in Ambala today to protest against the blockade of highways.

Farmers took tractors to the roads and chanted slogans against the bill. Protesters were seen with flags and banners. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

A large number of police have been deployed at the Sadopur border near Ambala in Haryana today in view of the farmers' protest, Ambala police chief Abhishek Jorwal said, adding that the Indian Farmers Union has called the protest. It has been barricaded.

"We have enough security forces here," he said. We have also changed the traffic route. We have a diversion plan for those coming from Delhi, Kurukshetra. More police have been deployed in Ambala as protesters can travel to Delhi from here. While watching the farmers' demonstration, the police is on alert mode.

Ambala Range IG Y Puran Kumar said this this morning, 16-17 farmers' organizations in Haryana have called a protest against the bill. In any case law and order will be maintained.

Delhi Police on Sunday said that police personnel have been deployed in border areas in neighboring states as part of precautionary measures in view of farmers' protests. Hundreds of farmers from five states and members of the All India Kisan Congress are protesting outside the Congress office in Delhi. Police have stepped up vigilance at the Delhi-Haryana border.

Farmers and activists from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Punjab were marching outside the Congress office. They were constantly chanting slogans against the Modi government. After which the police took him into custody.

It may be mentioned that the controversial Agriculture Bill was introduced in the Rajya Sabha today. After the bill was introduced, it was debated and slogans were chanted against the government in the Rajya Sabha. The government's ally Akali Dal has opposed the bill. Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from the cabinet after the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha.
