Every hour 18 people die in road accidents in India

India is facing grim statistics of road accidents. According to which thousands of Indians are losing their lives due to accidents in India.

According to figures released by the National Crime Records Bureau, 18 people are killed in road accidents every hour in India. In 2019, there were 4.37 lakh road accidents. A total of 1.34 lakh people lost their lives and 4.39 lakh people were injured. According to these statistics, 48 ​​accidents are happening every hour. In which 18 people are losing their lives. The biggest reason behind accidents is over speeding. This is because 59.6 per cent of the accidents that have occurred are due to speeding. 86241 people have lost their lives and more than 2 lakh people have been injured in over speeding cases.

The worry is that the number of accidents is increasing every year. The death toll in road accidents in 2018 was 1.52 lakh and in 2017 the figure was 1.50 lakh. In 2019, the death toll has more than doubled.

According to statistics, 38 percent of those killed in accidents were driving two-wheelers. This was followed by 14.6 per cent deaths in truck and 13.7 per cent deaths in car accidents.
