Beijing / New Delhi. Ta. Monday 21 September 2020

Coronavirus infection has not yet subsided, so a new type of disease has emerged in China. The infection, known as brucellosis, was reported to have infected 3,000 people.

More than 3,000 people tested positive for brucellosis in the Lanzhou area of northwest China's Gansu Province. So far 21,847 people have been tested. Initially 4646 people were found to be positive. Then 3,245 people were positively confirmed.

The news was published by Global Times, citing a report by Gansu Province for Disease Control and Prevention. However, no deaths have been reported so far. The disease was claimed last November when a biological pharma factory used expired pesticides and sanitizers to make a Brucella vaccine to be tested on animals. The factory did not succeed in destroying the bacteria by waste gas in July-August last year. As a result, brucellosis spread. However, the veracity of this information has not yet been formally announced.

All hospitals in the Chinese city of Lanzhou were urged to be prepared for the new epidemic if needed. Hospitals were also urged to test people for the disease for free. The disease causes the person to have a fever, joint stiffness, restlessness and discomfort, and constant sweating. However, it has recently been claimed that the disease is more prevalent in pigs, dogs and sheep and goats. The infection spreads quickly to dairy animals and people who consume its milk.
