Corona kills 328 doctors in country, IMA outraged over central government

New delhi date. 17. Thursday 2020 September

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has erupted after the government refused to release the death toll of doctors who lost their lives in the country's Corona riots.

The government has said in Parliament that it has no data on doctors and health workers who have lost their lives to corona or have been infected with the virus. The Indian Medical Association has released a list of 382 doctors who have lost their lives to corona and demanded that they be given martyr status.

The association says that if the government does not keep data on doctors and health workers infected with the corona, the government has no moral right to enforce the Disaster Management Act and the Epidemiological Act. Refuses.

State government health minister Ashwini Chaubey said the government did not have the figures because it was in charge of health care which was not collected at the central level.

The association said that if the government did not have the data, it would be an insult to the national heroes, the doctors.
