Chinese billionaire jailed for 18 years for criticizing Jinping

Publicly criticizing Chinese President Jinping on the issue of dealing with coronavirus has taken a heavy toll on China's billionaire husband.

Ren Zhiqiang, the former chairman of a Chinese government real estate company, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison on corruption charges. Earlier, he was also expelled from the Communist Party.

A Chinese court has convicted Jikiang of corruption .He was accused of taking millions of dollars in bribes. The judge also sentenced him to 18 years in prison and a 600,000 fine. The court also said he has admitted all his allegations.

According to American media, people who question leaders in China are often jailed for corruption. Renને had an online article in March criticizing Jinping and wrote that printing had failed to deal with the coronavirus. The Chinese government then took action, accusing the 69-year-old of corruption, bribery and abuse of power.
