China's space program tweaks, Gaofen-02C satellite launches fail

Beijing, Ta. Sunday 13 September 2020

Launched with half the preparations, China's satellite failed to reach its target and crashed into the sky.

China, which is trying to become a space superpower, is more concerned with scientific discovery than moving ahead quickly and establishing a rift between the countries of the world. So some of their space missions are constantly failing.

China's state-run newspaper Global Times has published a small report on the failure of the mission. China's optical remote sensing satellite Jilin-1 Gaofen 02C is failing to reach pre-determined levels, it said.

The website was launched at 1:02 a.m. local time from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert. The satellite was launched from the Kuaizhou-1a solid rocket.

The launch center said that as soon as it was launched, the activities of the satellite became abnormal and the mission failed. Experts say the satellite wandered into space and crashed. China's space agencies are investigating the cause of the mission's failure.

The Jilin-1 Gaofen 02C satellite was allegedly equipped with a high-resolution camera, according to SpaceNews.com, a website that monitors satellite launches around the world. This is the fourth failure in China's 26 launches in 2020, according to SpaceNews.com.
