Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is on a visit to Russia for a meeting of the Shanghai Co-operation Organization (SCO). He met with Chinese Defense Minister Wai Feng today. The meeting was requested by the Chinese Defense Minister. This was the first high-level meeting between the leaders of the two countries since the Indo-China conflict in May.

Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh stressed that China must retreat. During the meeting, Rajnath Singh came across pictures with aggressive gestures. The pictures became controversial on social media and Rajnath Singh was praised for telling China in clear words.

Earlier, Rajnath Singh addressed a meeting of the SCO and other security committees. Meanwhile, in the presence of Chinese Foreign Minister Wai Feng, Rajnath Singh struck a chord with China. Rajnath Singh said that if peace is to be established, an atmosphere of trust must be created first. He also criticized Pakistan-inspired terrorism.

The SCO is a joint organization of Asian and European countries and has been known since its inception in 2001 in Shanghai, China. Its meeting is being attended by eight member countries of the SCO and other observer nations.

India and China have been at loggerheads for four months. For the first time since then, the top leaders of the two countries have come here face to face. Rajnath Singh said in Feng's presence that Eurasia needed an atmosphere of trust and that there was no point in false aggression.

It is well known that the conflict with China has arisen only because of China's aggression. It marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. In this regard, Rajnath Singh said that we know that there was destruction during the war. Therefore, one should learn from them to live in peace.

If the SCO member countries come together, 40 per cent of the world's population will join it. That is why these countries should work together for world peace and abide by international law, he said in the presence of the Chinese Defense Minister without naming names.

Russia has erected a military monument and museum to commemorate the victory of World War II. The fort, also known as the Cathedral of the Armed Forces, was visited by Rajnath Singh before the meeting. The cathedral is still open in June.
