Arrest of a journalist spying for China, documents related to defense found

Rajiv Verma, a freelance journalist, has been arrested by the Delhi Police amid clashes between India and China. The journalist has been detained under the Official Secrets Act.

Police allege that they have found some documents related to the defense. He is currently on a 6-day remand. The interrogation revealed that the journalist was spying for China. Rajiv Sharma has worked for a number of newspapers. He was arrested on September 14.

Police say another journalist is also being questioned in this regard. The documents obtained from Rajiv Sharma were to be handed over to China. He has already handed over some documents.

A complaint was lodged with the External Affairs Ministry against the journalist. It is also being investigated. Along with Rajiv Sharma, a Chinese national and a Nepali national have also been arrested for providing money through bog companies.
