Longi Bhuiyan, a Bihar farmer who has dug a five-kilometer-long canal for irrigation alone in 20 years, is in the spotlight.

Like Dasharath Manji, who paved the mountain in Bihar, Longi had been digging a canal for 20 years to bring water to the farm for irrigation. He has dug a canal five kilometers long, four feet wide and three feet deep.

Now that his feat has gone viral on social media, people are extending a helping hand. Industrialist Anand Mahindra has announced to give him a tractor as a gift, saying, "I will be very proud to give this tractor."

Laungi Bhuiyan says, "I was thinking that if there is an irrigation facility, people can cultivate better. In the forest, when I used to take the animals to graze every day, the animals would gather at one place to drink water. So the idea of digging a canal came at that time and from the next day I went out to dig a canal with a shovel and other equipment.

Today, Loungi is 65 years old and his family did not stop him from working hard for 20 years.
