New Delhi, 14, August, 2020, Friday

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Prime Minister of India addresses the nation by waving a tricolor flag at the Red Fort. It is a moment of pride for PM to take part in the grand celebrations on August 15 at the Red Fort. However, Chandrasekhar was the only Prime Minister of India who could not fly the flag on August 15. After the BJP withdrew its support to the Janata Dal's VP Singh government in 190, Chandrasekhar of the Samajwadi Party got the chance to become the Prime Minister on November 10, 190. Chandrasekhar, who has only six MPs in the Lok Sabha, was made the Prime Minister by the Congress with party support.

The general elections were held in the country after the Congress withdrew its support to the Chandrasekhar government. In which Congress formed the government as the largest party and made PV Narasimha Rao the Prime Minister on June 21, 191. Chandrasekhar ruled as caretaker Prime Minister during the 191 general elections, a total of nine days.

Although Chandrasekhar became the Prime Minister, he was the only Prime Minister who was not allowed to fly the flag at the Red Fort. Although his period was shorter than Chandrasekhar's reign, he was fortunate enough to fly the flag.

The first tricolor on the Red Fort was hoisted by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on August 15. They hoisted the tricolor on the Red Fort a maximum of 15 times. Since then, Indira Gandhi has hoisted the August 15 flag 12 times. Chandrasekhar became the Prime Minister directly without becoming a state or cabinet minister. The Janata Party won the 19th Lok Sabha election after the crisis. He had a chance to become a minister in the Morarji Desai government but he turned it down. He was an ardent speaker and scholarly writer but he did not get a chance to fly the tricolor over the Red Fort.
