- Not received salary for last 14 months

- Another annoyance is growing

Lucknow 22nd August 2020 Saturday

In Uttar Pradesh, 351 employees of the women's helpline 181 were on indefinite strike. His complaint was that we have not received salary for the last 14 months. How do we run a house?

On the one hand, crimes against women in Uttar Pradesh were increasing day by day, while on the other hand, the employees of the women's helpline have not been paid for a year and a half. These women employees say that so far we have helped five lakh women in emergencies which included counseling them in cases of domestic violence as well as other harassment incidents.

An employee openly said that the government of Yogi Adityanath does not listen to our complaints. We have been running the Women's Helpline for over a year and a half on the strength of our personal savings. We do everything from paying the helpline office rent to filling the diesel in the rescue van at our own expense. Women's phones are constantly coming to the helpline. How and how much can we help women without tools?

"We have been asking for Yogiji's appointment for the last several months," said Puja Pandey, a female employee. He gave us an appointment on July 17th and we made a presentation to him but nothing came of that presentation.

We also warned on July 20 that we would go on an indefinite hunger strike if we did not get paid. "We continued this women's helpline even during the lockdown caused by Corona," he added. We have not received salary for 14 months.

These women complained that often we do not even get the police help we need to solve women's problems in time.
