New York, Tuesday, August 11, 2020

The Indian national flag will be flown at the world-famous Time Square in New York City, USA. For the first time in American history, such an event will take place on Time Square. On the 15th of August, India's Independence Day, the tricolor will fly here and a new history will be made.

The decision was made by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), an NGO of Indians living in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The announcement was made in a statement released by the FIA. The statement added that the Empire State Building would be lit up in orange, white and green on the night of August 14. Indian Ambassador to the United States Randir Jaiswal will be the special guest when the tricolor is flown at Time Square.

For the first time in American history, the Indian national flag will be flown at Time Square and a new history will be made. Thus, every year on Independence Day, American Indians organize an India Parade by inviting any Indian celebrity. But this time Corona has roared in America so it is not possible to hold a parade.

The FIA has decided not to hold an India Parade this year but to salute the flag at Time Square, the media said in a statement. For the past several years, the India Parade in New York has been a major attraction for Indians around the world. The India Parade was covered by most of the media in the world.

Even when Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently paid homage to the land for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5, huge hoardings of Lord Rama were erected in Time Square and Indians attended and sang Ramdhun.
