Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman's refusal to meet Pakistan's military chief General Bajwa is believed to have added to Pakistan's woes.

Saudi Arabia has been annoyed with Pakistan for some time now. Bajwa had to return to Pakistan with a frustrated face when Yuvraj Mohammad bin Salman refused to meet General Bajwa who had gone to Saudi Arabia to persuade him. Saudi Arabia also canceled a program to honor General Bajwa in the wake of bitter relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. In a last-ditch effort, General Bajwa met with Saudi Arabia's military chief, General Fayyad bin Hamid al-Ruwaili. At the time, he even offered more military aid to Saudi Arabia, but nothing came of it.

Saudi Arabia was offended by Pakistan's stance on the Jammu and Kashmir issue. The fact that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who at one time helped Pakistan a lot, refused to meet Bajwa, shows how much Saudi Arabia is upset about Pakistan's attitude.

Pakistan also tried its best to convene a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Jammu and Kashmir issue, but Saudi Arabia did not co-operate. Ever since India repealed Article 370 in August 2019, Pakistan has been making desperate efforts to convene a meeting of the OIC.

The OIC has 57 Islamic countries as members. Pakistan also made efforts to convene a meeting of OIC foreign ministers. But Saudi Arabia did not take interest so other Islamic countries did not promote Pakistan either.
