The popularity of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is growing not only in the country but also abroad. A large number of people in China are his followers.

A survey conducted by China's mouthpiece Global Times three months after the Ladakh violence found that most Chinese are more happy with PM Modi's approach than their own leaders.

Praise of Modi government

According to the survey, about 50 per cent of Chinese citizens favor Beijing, while 50 per cent praise India's Modi government. About 70 per cent believe that anti-China sentiment has increased in India.

More than 30 per cent think relations between the two countries will improve. Nine per cent of those surveyed believe that India-China relations will improve in the short term, but 25 per cent say the two countries' relationship will remain strong in the long run.

Huawei is tempting India

Meanwhile, Huawei, China's largest tech company, is trying to entice India by publishing large advertisements in all major Indian dailies. Huawei is trying to show that its relationship with India is very old. He has been doing business here for the last 20 years and is always committed to the interest of India.

However, Chinese companies have been on the Indian government's hit list since the Ladakh violence. According to a report, India wants Huawei and other Chinese companies to complete the relationship in a phased manner. In a formal ban, India has allegedly made it clear to telecom companies to stay away from Chinese gear.
