New Delhi, Saturday 22 August 2020

The Center has asked all the states to decide that there should be no restrictions on the movement of persons and more goods from one state to another during the current process of delay in lockdown, Union Home Minister Ajay Bhalla said in a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and Union Territories. Said that there is news that local level movement is being banned by various districts and states.

Recalling the unlocking of Unlock-3, Bhalla said such restrictions create difficulties in the interstate movement of goods and services, and affect the supply chain, disrupting economic activity or employment, adding that Unlock's guidelines clearly state that There should be no restrictions on interstate and local movement of persons or goods.

The guidelines also state that cross-border trade agreements with neighboring countries will not require separate permits, approvals, or e-permits for the movement of individuals or goods, the Home Secretary said. Equally, the letter insists that restrictions should not be imposed, and that compliance with unlock guidelines should be ensured.
