Ration card helpline number revealed for customers

Complaints are coming from different parts of the country about not getting or even getting less food on ration cards. Ration dealers are also reluctant to share their quota with cardholders.

A helpline number has been announced by the Food and Supplies Department to alleviate this problem. Customers can complain here. Action will be taken immediately when a complaint is received. The Central Government has decided to distribute foodgrains to migrant workers on the basis of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Yojana after the lockdown.

This time there has been a complaint in which less grain is given by the dealer. If any ration card holders are having difficulty in getting free foodgrains, they can lodge a complaint at the District Food and Supply Control Office or at the State Consumer Assistance Center.

The government has declared toll free numbers 1800-180-2087, 1800-212-5512 and 1967. The customer can complain here. These state governments have announced separate helpline numbers.
