In the run-up to the US presidential election in November, President Donald Trump on Monday called for giving priority to American youth in jobs. The move may be good for American youth. H-1B visa holders were most likely to be harmed by this decision.

Defending the decision, the US Secretary of Labor claimed that the move was aimed at curbing fraud in the name of H-1B visas and brightening the future of American youth. There were reports that negotiations were underway between Microsoft and BitDance to buy TickTalk. Trump said the U.S. should have a 100 percent stake so that the U.S. government's coffers can be filled. "I have spoken to Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, about this," he said.

Earlier in the day, Trump said he plans to suspend H-1B visas by the end of this year to help unemployed American youth find jobs.
