PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi pay tributes on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's 75th birth anniversary

Today is the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to him. PM Modi tweeted, "Tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birthday. While Rahul Gandhi, the son of former Congress president and Rajiv Gandhi, paid homage to his father and called him a visionary.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted a photo of his father saying that Rajiv Gandhi was a visionary and a visionary but before all this he was a generous and loving person. I consider myself blessed to have him as my father. We remember them today as well as every day.



It may be mentioned that Rajiv Gandhi was born on this day i.e. August 20, 1944. He took over the country after the assassination of Indira Gandhi by extremists. He was the 9th Prime Minister of the country. He led the country as Prime Minister from 1984 to 1989. He was assassinated by Tamil extremists in 1991 during an election campaign.
