Some people tried to take out the procession ignoring the rules of the administration. A witness said clashes broke out as soon as the procession reached Khumaini Chowk. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

Clashes in Shia-dominated areas

According to reports, similar clashes have been reported in other areas of Srinagar. Police used tear gas to disperse a crowd in the Shia-dominated Shalimar area.

Demonstrations were taking place in violation of the lockdown
