On the eve of Independence Day, at the behest of Pakistan, militants opened fire on a convoy in Kashmir's Nogam area, injuring the wounded, who were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two died. Whenever Independence Day is celebrated, terrorists try to carry out a major attack. However the attack is being foiled amid military and police security.

The attack on Friday was carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed militants. Terrorists opened fire at a police outpost on a bypass in the Nogam area on Friday morning while an investigation was underway, killing two policemen and treating others injured.

This information was given by IG Vinay Kumar. "The attack was carried out by Jaish militants and later they fled. We are searching for them," he said. Security has been beefed up in Kashmir on the eve of Independence Day following warnings that terrorists could carry out attacks.

Currently, the search operation has been intensified in Kashmir on the occasion of Independence Day. During the investigation, a large quantity of weapons and explosives including 15 grenades, 73 AK rounds, three pistols and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from Baramulla. At the same time, Pakistani currency notes and other currencies have been found, which proves that these terrorists are acting at the behest of Pakistan.

Two Jaish-e-Mohammed militants have been arrested from Pulwama. The militants, who were nabbed from Tral district here, have been linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Meanwhile, Kashmir Police Chief DGP Dilbag Singh blamed Pakistan for killing two policemen.

He said Pakistan was not digesting the peace it had in Kashmir. Dilbag Singh paid tributes to the martyred soldiers and said that under no circumstances should Pakistan's intentions be allowed to succeed, such efforts would always be made to bring peace to Kashmir. The army was alerted following the possibility of firing on the border by the Pakistani army. Major General Virendra Vats, posted here, said the situation on the LOC was tense. So that security is enhanced.

On the same day, at the behest of Pakistan, militants attacked an army base in Kashmir, killing two soldiers. Even in the midst of this situation, Imran Khan started chanting Kashmir Raag.

Imran tweeted not one but several on Friday, saying that Pakistan always stands with the people of Kashmir on the occasion of Independence Mubarak and is committed to help him in every way possible.
