Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden announced his candidacy ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Indian-American Senator Kamala Harris will now run for the vice presidency from the Democrats. Joe Biden made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday and was followed by a flurry of congratulations.

Joe Biden tweeted, "They are very happy to have Kamala Harris as their partner in this war. He is counted among the best senators in the country. I have worked with them for a very long time. He has done a great job for women and children and has shaped the future. '

Kamala Harris also tweeted after the announcement and thanked the party. He wrote that if Biden is a man who connects people and he has done this in his political career. I am glad that I have become their presidential candidate and whatever they say, I will obey my Commander-in-Chief.

Kamala Harris, 55, is the first woman of Indian descent to run for office. Earlier, she was the first woman of Indian descent to be elected as a senator.
